Dhaulagiri Trek

Dhaulagiri (8167m.) Round trek is considered one of the difficult trekking in Nepal. Dhaulagiri trek starts from Beni after a 7 hrs bus ride. It starts with typical Nepali village and arrive Italy Base camp where trekkers take an acclimatization day to avoid the mountain sickness. This is considered harder after ascending from Italy Baase Camp to before getting to Yak Kharka. After crossing a Dhaulagiri pass you will arrive in hidden valley. In cloudy day it has a less visibilities even to find the trail some time. It is a complete organized trekking that trekkers need to be feet to walk over the snow, crevasse and ridges. After crossing the French pass it will combine with the beautiful Annapurna trekking route. The trek remain closed in the deep winter.

Itinerary - Dhaulagiri Trek

Day 1 Arrive in Kathmandu :

Our representative will be waiting in the Nepal airport and transfer to Hotel. We will welcome to our city office and finalize the formalities. Brief the program and introduce the guide and other operator. Take an easy evening to stroll around. Over night in the Hotel.


Day 2 Kathmandu Sight seeing :

After the breakfast drive to sight seeing by car with guide to the world heritage sites (Pashupatinath- Hindu temple, Boudhanath - Buddhist stupa, Swyambhunath - Buddhist Stupa and Patan Durbar Square). Back to Hotel and free in the evening. We will make ready the cocuments and other paper work to on trek. Over night in the Hotel. BB


Day 3. Drive Kathmandu to Benir:

Our Trekking guide will pick you up and take you to Bus Park to drive a bus to Beni. Over nigh tin the guest house.

Day 4. Drive to Babichaour and trek to Darbang 1180m.

Day 5. Trek to Sibang (1750m).

O/N in the camp


Day 6. Trek to Muri (2000m).

O/N in the camp


Day 7. Trek to Boghara.

O/N in the camp


Day 8. Trek to Lapache Kharka.

O/N in the camp


Day 9. Trek to Chartare.

O/N in the camp


Day 10. Trek to Italy Base Camp. 3660m.

O/N in the camp


Day 11. Trek to Rest day

O/N in the camp


Day 12. Trek to Dhaulagiri base cmap 4740m.

Day 13. Trek to French Pass (5334m).

Over night in the camp.


Day 14. Trek to Yak Kharka 3880m.

Day 15. Trek to Tukuche/ Jomsom (2670m), via Kagbeni :

After the breakfast trek down the trail follows the Kali Gandaki River. Some trekkers they fly to pokhara from jomsom. We continue our trail to Tukuche. Over night in the lodge. Today you can enjoy the local apple brandy. BLD


Day 16. Trek to Kalopani (2480m)

The magnificent views of Dhaulagari, Tukuche Peak, Nilgiris and Annapurna I is memorable today. The trail follow the river bank and a rough mountain road. BLD


Day 17. Trek to Tatopani (1219m).

Most of the way is downhill for today. After crossing the bridge at Ghasa we continue our trail down to Dana, before arriving Dana we enjoy the water fall called Rupse Chahara. Arrive in Tatopani, with its welcome hot springs and it makes you refresh once again. You can enjoy the who pond with some beers and over night in the lodge. BLD


Day 18. Drive Beni via Pokhara :

After breakfast take a ride to Pokhara. After many days walking in mountain, you feel very much diverse to be in city. You can enjoy the lake with mountain views on background. Over night in the Hotel. BL


Day 19. Explore Pokhara :

Take an easy day around the city. Over night at the hotel.


Day 20. Drive to Kathmnadu :

Take a early breakfast and take regular tourist bus to Kathmnadu at 7:30 from Pokhara to Kathmnadu. Free evening in Kathmnadu. Optional walk down to Kathmandu durbar square. Over night in the hotel.


Day 21. Drive to airport and fly back to Home/ join other trek tour :

We will transfer to airport and take a flight to home. Home sweet home.


Note : Upon final payment AATE will provide pre-departure file which will include the detailed agreed itinerary, hotels that you will be accommodating and the transport details. You will also be introduced to your trekking guide for this trip.

Package Cost Includes - Dhaulagiri Trek

• Arrival and departure transfer from international airport

• Four night hotel/ guest house in Kathmandu on EP plan twin sharing

• One day sight seeing in Kathmandu by car

• All land transfers as per itinerary to trek. (by private car, van or bus as per group size)

• All meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) whilst on a camping trek that will prepared by AATE and served from our dinning room.

• Applicable trekking fees.

• Porters and/or pack animal (one porter per two persons is provided to carry the clients personal effects)

• Trekking equipment (duffle Bag for your gear and for camping based treks tent, mattress, sleeping bag, kitchen and dinning room tents and all kitchen utensils, toilet tent)

• Trekking staff (guide with government license holder and other assistant guides where applicable, cook, Sherpa and porter).

• Insurance for the trekking staff. (insurance as per state law)

• First aid medical kit

• All the government tax and our (AATE) service charges.

• Visa and passport fees (to entry and re entry). Nepal entry visa is US$30 for 30 days.

• Your travel insurance (for travel, cancellation, accident, health, emergency evacuation and loss of life, theft of or damage to personal effects).

• Tips and gratuities (crew frequently receives some recognition for good service)

• Costs arising from unforeseen events outside the control of AATE.

• Personal expenses such as alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, mineral water, monuments entrance fees, postage, laundry, video, camera, phone, etc.

• The single supplements payable on all bookings where only one person is traveling.
