Island Peak Climbing

Trip Duration : 18 days

Seen from above Dingboche, the Island Peak does indeed resemble an island in a sea of ice. In 1983, it was renamed Imja Tse (6,189m., although for most people the descriptive name of Island Peak seems to have been retained). Island peak climbing involves one steep and exposed 100m ice or snow climb. Beside from technical climbing part, non-technical part of Island Peak Climbing includes enjoyable snow climb offering some of the most striking scenery in the Khumbu. The Island Peak itself is really an extension of the South ridge of Lhotse Shar and is separated from it by a small col.

For Island Peak Climbing, One requires to be well equipped and a experience guide to led you till the top. Alpine Asian Treks and Expedition have been organizing Island Peak Climbing for many years and have perfect knowledge and experience with logistic and other kinds of support that would be required to climb Island Peak.
