Jomsom Muktinath Trek (Easy trek)

Jomsom Muktinath trek is known as the easiest trek in Annapurna trail. The trek follows the worlds deepest gorge kaligandaki valley. The local people called Thakali are famush for hospitality and friendly. The trek leads to Muktinath (3800 m) a major pilgrimage site for both Buddhists and Hindus as well as an opportunity to relish the great mountain views including Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and many more. Some trekkers also do the Annapurna circuit (Throng la pass) trek from this side though it is harder than the other side. you will share the trail with burros and pony caravans on their way to and from the Mustang region carrying food or other stuff. This trek passes through the most popular Ghorepani Poon Hill on the way and further ahead natural hot spring (Tatopani). You will have option to shorten the trek either fly to Jomsom or fly back. The trails are open round the year. This trek offer nice lodge (tea house trek) for food and accommodation. It can be more relaxing trek compare to other trek. You can enjoy with the local whisky called 'Marpha' while on trek which is made from apple. You can observe some Gumpa and chorten (buddhist site) on the way. If you are in September or October you can encounter with the caravan of sheep from Tibet or upper Mustang to sale to Pokhra or in the village to the festival. Local guide porter from Muktinath region can be arrange if you book in advance.

Itinerary of Jomsom Muktinath Trek in Detail

Days 01:  Upon arrival in Kathmandu our preventative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your Hotel.

   Day 02 : Drive or fly to Pokhara and meet your crew. O/N in the hotel.

   Days 03 : Trek to Hile O/N in the lodge (approx 5 hrs.)

 Days 04 : Trek to Ghorepani  2834m. O/N in the lodge (approx 6-7 hrs.)

Days 05 : Trek to Sikha (approx 5 hrs.)

Days 06 : Trek to Tatopani (1200 m) (approx 5 hrs.)

Days 07 : Trek to Kalo Pani (2560 m) (approx 6 hrs.)

Days 08 : Trek to Marpha (2,713 m). (approx 6 hrs.)

Days 09 : Trek to Kagbeni (2810 m). (approx 6 hrs.)

Days 10 : Trek to Muktinath (3710 m) (approx 5 hrs.)

Days 11 : Trek to Kagbeni (approx 5 hrs.)

Days 12 :Trek to Jomsom (2713 m).

Days 13 : Flights back to Pokhara. Transfer to the Hotel. A free afternoon in Pokhara

Days 14 : Days 11 : Drive to Kathmandu. Transfer to the Hotel. Late afternoon sightseeing tour

Days 15 : In Kathmandu. This is a cushion day that has been built into the itinerary to allow for delays due to flights or other reasons beyond our control. If you are able to complete your trek in time then this day may be used for sight seeing around Kathmandu Valley or free for shopping days. O/N Hotel

Our full board package cost includes the following:

  • Airport transfers (by private car, van or bus as per group size)

  • All land transfers as per itinerary to trek. (by private car, van or bus as per group size)

  • Domestic flights and departure taxes as per itinerary.

  • All meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) whilst on the trek. Meals on camping treks will prepared by AATE  and served from our dinning room tent. In lodge based treks all meals will be provided from the lodges along the way.

  • All lodge accommodations, tenting fees and hotel in Pokhara.

  • Annapurna Conservation Park entrance fees.

  • Applicable trekking fees.

  • Porters and/or pack animal (one porter per two persons is provided to carry the clients personal effects)

  • Trekking equipment (For a lodge based trek a duffle Bag for your non-personnel gear. For camping based treks a tent (shared between two persons), mattress, sleeping bag, kitchen and dinning room tents and all kitchen utensils, toilet tent)

  • Trekking staff  (guide with government license holder and other assistant guides where applicable, cook, Sherpa and porter as per requirements).

  • Insurance for the trekking staff. (insurance as per state law)

  • All the government tax and our (AATE) service charges.

  • Upon final payment AATE will provide pre-departure file including the detailed agreed itinerary, hotels and transport booked and introduce you to your trekking guide.

Our full board package does not include the following:

  • Personal trekking equipment  Equipment Check

  • All meals while in Kathmandu or in Pokhara.

  • Hotel accommodation in Kathmandu, (they can be included upon request).

  • Sightseeing tours in Kathmandu, (they can be included upon request).

  • International flights and departure taxes.

  • Visa and passport fees (to entry and re entry). Nepal entry visa is US$30 for 60 days.

  • Your travel insurance (for travel, cancellation, accident, health, emergency evacuation and loss of life, theft of or damage to personal effects).

  • Tips and gratuities (crew frequently receives some recognition for good service)

  • Costs arising from unforeseen events outside the control of AATE.

  • Personal expenses such as alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, mineral water, monuments entrance fees, postage, laundry, video, camera, phone, etc.

  • The single supplements payable on all bookings where only one person is travelling.

  • Gratuities for services provided on a personal basis.

  • All other services not included in the  "cost includes" section above.
